Most people consider us crazy riding from Chile to Alaska via Nova Scotia and Newfoundland (the most Eastern province of Canada). But for us, a 10,000km detour was totally worth it to catch up with family and see just a little of Newfoundland - a province as wild as it is beautiful. Oh, and to have Richard officially "Screeched In".
6 months and 32,000km later we have arrived in Eastern Canada. From here we head west to British Columbia and then north to Alaska. So many adventures still ahead of us!
We thought the morning was crazy as we pretended to lead the Dakar rally into La Paz. But we didn't know what adventures were in store for us as we negotiated the dirty, muddy back streets of La Paz and the precarious 'ferry' crossing to Copacabana.
Caught up in Dakar fever we were stuck in Ururo for an extra night. Making our escape early the next morning, we found ourselves leading the Dakar out of Ururo and into La Paz.
Puerto Varas, also known as the city of roses, is famous for its German traditions and German architecture. As a lover of "kuchen" Richard was in absolute heaven.
